We will consider contemporary literature and art, both American and international, and its forms of response/resistance to the phenomenon and discourse of the so-called global war on terror. Thus subjects might include: the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan; war against non-state actors; covert warfare; drone warfare; the privatization of war; the competition for oil & natural resources; US foreign policy and the Arab spring; neoconservatism and neocolonialism; the GWOT in the context of religion, and more.
